For When the Athletic Career Ends

What now, God? 

Who am I supposed to be?

You, O God, are constant and make meaning out of all things.

Where can I find mine?

Fill my life with things that give me the drive and purpose that I found in my sport.

Help me to devote the energy and passion that I carry into something meaningful that honors you and my neighbors.

Though my time as an athlete is over, my name has not changed.

My identity and the gifts that I bring show up everyday in my body, with or without my sport.

May my body never stop moving, and may I always remember the teammates and coaches that brought me to where I am today.
