How it works
- Quarterly pick: Each quarter, Christian Athlete Circles recommends one book on faith and formation for student-athletes and coaches. Choose the format you prefer—print, ebook, or audio—and read on your timeline.
- Your pace, your path: No meetings. No deadlines. No long-term commitment. Engage when it helps you most, and step back when your season gets heavy.
- Gentle touchpoints: Throughout the semester, we’ll offer short prompts, quotes, and reflection questions on social media and email to spark insight and conversation. Share your takeaways when you want, how you want.

You’ve heard of book club. What’s an (un)book club?
Athletes and coaches don’t need another task on the to-do list—but the soul still needs good fuel. The (un)book club is a low-pressure way to explore faith, spirituality, and calling at your own pace while staying connected to a supportive community. It removes deadlines while keeping reflection and growth on the calendar.

Let Your Life Speak by Parker J. Palmer
What is calling, really?
If you’ve ever wondered what you’re “called” to—and what that even means—you’re not alone. As Mary Oliver asks, “what will you do with your one wild and precious life?” and as Frederick Buechner reminds, vocation lives “where your deep gladness meets the world’s deep hunger.” Sports shape our rhythms, but calling runs deeper and is discovered by listening within and listening to God.
Parker Palmer has become a trusted guide for discerning vocation because he reframes calling as something we receive by listening, not as a prize we chase by performing. “Before you tell your life what you intend to do with it, listen for what it intends to do with you.”
**This book is super short and will position us well to pick up an Advent devotional for the month of December.
